I’d heard a lot of positive things about the Funky Finds indie arts & crafts show, and I was disappointed we weren’t able to make it to Fort Worth for the 2010 event, so I was really excited when I was accepted as a vendor for the 2011 Spring Fling! On March 12-13th I was all set-up inside the small exhibits building at the Will Rogers Memorial Center with 100+ other vendors.
From a vendor standpoint, the show was a great value. The vendor fee included a 10′x10′ space for 2 days (+ Friday night set-up), a mention + link on the online event page, mention in the event booklet (distributed to attendees) and printed advertising> It aslo included a discounted “the shops @ funky finds shop. The event organizers – Jessica Dougherty + family – were very professional, organized and helpful.
The show itself was full of talented vendors, and I think the biggest downfall was that I didn’t get much time to stroll around. There was a steady flow of visitors; and quite a diverse crowd. Everyone who stopped by to chat was very friendly, and I really enjoyed meeting so many different people + sharing my artwork with them. I did get the chance to meet a group of skilled vendors from Austin on Sunday and acquired a few well crafted + much needed coffee mugs from Little e Pottery. The event also supported a couple of great charities ~ CASA of Tarrant County + The Humane Society of North Texas ~ which is something i am always happy to be a part of!
I look forward to being able to shop and/or vend at future Funky Finds shows!
