we’d been in need of a vacation for a long while, and despite the down economy, we’d saved enough money and air miles to take one. we were trying to decide where to visit, when the answer came in form of a wedding invitation.
my beautiful cousin in Huntington Beach was getting married, and we were already considering a visit to our very close friends who’d moved away to San Diego. so flights were booked, accommodations were made and at the end of Sept. 2011, we left from DFW to visit sunny California for a week.
i have to say that this was the best all-around vacation we’ve taken – visiting with family and friends, beautiful scenery, beaches, blue skies, peace and relaxation. it was REALLY hard to come back! i will be using some of the amazing photos we took as inspiration for my next series of watercolor paintings “from California”.
