in anticipation of spring
Wednesday, February 17th, 2010gratitude for gerberas

around this time last year i delivered one of my first commissioned paintings ~ a bunch of gerberas for a friend’s wife for valentine’s day. it seems that these daisies are a pretty popular flower, and i again have a bunch on the easel. i got fresh flowers to photograph for this painting from the wonderful people at i love flowers in dallas and the timing was perfect as i was able to feature these bright beauties on my table at “flea harvey’s” flea market february 6th.
hip happenings
i’m sooo ready for the weather to change! like last year, i will be out and about painting with grandma’s suitcase in tow. i’ve got some new locations in mind, new flowers to paint and a new portable easel ready for work. if you have any ideas (restaurant patios, parks, coffee shops, etc) for safe outdoor painting locations, please comment and let me know!
on february 6th i was at lee harvey’s with some cards, paintings and shirts for the 1st saturday flea market. so groovy! there was a wide array of fun things to shop ~ art, clothes (i bought a ann taylor wool blazer for $5!), collectible toys, handmade jewelry, handmade baby bibs, cool old stuff, etc, etc, etc! on top of all the neat-o stuff, did i mention it was at lee harvey’s? they’re open early with full menu, breakfast and bar for your flea marketing pleasure. i’ll be at the next one ~march 6th ~ come see me early and buy me a spiked coffee!

thanks for letting me share my art with you! texas is my home, art is my love and i just really dig flowers.
i hope to spread the power of the flower through art and involvement.
