artist’s statement
i see the world in technicolor. bright vivid images that distract me from all the muddiness underneath. in my art, i pull adverse feelings and dark thoughts to the paper and re-imagine them as something more beautiful – like a flower. it brings me peace…and i want to share that with everyone.
texas is my home.

i grew up in suburbia just north of dallas (circa 197something), but i always envisioned myself living outside the city…somewhere with a lot of wide open space. in september 2008 that vision came true, and i found myself surrounded by beautiful texas countryside.
february 2009 i defected from the corporate world where i enjoyed 10 years working with marketing groups and agencies as a graphic designer; and later as creative director, but my paintbrush and easel were always calling & were never too far away. i’ve found i prefer a paintbrush to a pen, and i’ll take both over a keyboard and mouse.
art is my love
i mostly work in watercolors, but i’ve had several years of informal training in various forms of fine art. i like to focus on and exploit the shapes, colors and shadows i see in my subject matter. i always have a watercolor (or 2) in progress, but when i’m not at the easel, i can be found experiementing with jewelry, or making stationery. my original paintings and prints appear in private collections throughout the united states.
i donate a portion of every art sale to benefit environmental conservation & education, or family farmers.

thanks for letting me share my art with you! texas is my home, art is my love and i just really dig flowers.
i hope to spread the power of the flower through art and involvement.
