This peacock painting is inspired by topiaries at the Dallas Arboretum. Exploring the garden is a favorite source of inspiration. Always changing colors, shapes and a peaceful atmosphere create an ideal environment for encouraging creativity. [ see photos ]

The stylized birds stood proud against a blue sky and were grounded with beds shaped like peacock tails, planted with colorful flowers.

After visiting the garden, I sketched a few peacocks in my sketchbook. When a color scheme and bird profile was established, I translated it into this painting.
