“End of Summer”
Landscape Watercolor

watercolor on cold press paper

An original landscape watercolor of a tree. This sturdy tree is standing in a green meadow, surrounded by swirling gray clouds and a red patch of summer flowers. This surreal landscape would look groovy on any wall.

Summer Ends
The grass is dry, just barely green
and the sky begs for rain.
A hot sun waits a little longer
before it starts the day.
Tree branches reach out, full of leaves
and summer ends with a lazy breeze.

Surreal Art – original watercolor painting

This surreal art painting is inspired by the caves, and desert surroundings of Carlsbad Caverns, New Mexico. A watercolor painting that would look groovy in any room.

Things that Grow in the Dark
After experiencing the darkness of the cave in Carlsbad Caverns, perceptions start to change. Strange shapes peak out of the darkness, and thoughts become full of color. Curiosity is at its peak, what other things lie beneath the Earth? What grows in places our eyes cannot see?

Green Flowers Painting

This groovy green flowers painting came out of a dream. During feverish nights over a long illness, my dreams were filled with surreal blue-green seascapes and twisted orange banners waving in the wind. Beatles songs played softly in the background. Surreal flowers grew out of the fertile ground.

This green flowers painting would look groovy on any wall.

greenflowers-progressAfter recovering from several weeks of being ill, I wanted nothing more than to get out of the house. Painting supplies accompanied me to the park on Spring afternoons. I spent time listening to Beatles songs, enjoying a soothing sun and warm breeze. Peaceful surroundings provided the perfect setting for reflection and working on the green flowers painting.
